WIP Wednesday: Leaf plate (6 February 2013) Post date February 6, 2013 A bit of a cheat – I had this one done on Monday, but since I’m in between projects right now, here’s a shot of it while being grouted. For me, it totally depends on what I’m grouting. If it’s raw unfinished wood or something else that could been stained by the grout, I definitely taped it off! But for this plate, I didn’t bother and instead just followed up right after with a wet cloth to wipe away any grout that got on the edges. I also do all my grouting with my hands (gloved, of course) and don’t use any tools. It’s probably not the “right” way, but I like the control it gives me and most of my mosaics are small enough that I’m not being inefficient by doing it this way. Let me know what you think!
