Out with the old, in with the new

Slowly but surely, I’m gathering new materials for this next phase in my mosaic adventure. I’ve managed to pick up lots of marble recently (both at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore and at Mosaikashop), and I’ve also come across or been given several other interesting objects to work with, like scavenged safety glass, letterpress stamps, and sea glass.

With all this new material starting to accumulate, I find myself asking: Is it time to purge? Storage space is in short supply, and I’ve got about seven bins full of stained glass, plus a number of jars full of smaller scraps. I doubt I’ll ever work through all of it, so maybe it’s time to cull my stash. I don’t think I could ever get rid of all my glass (at least not in one go), but I’ll bet I could whittle it down to three bins.

What do you think? Out with the old and in with the new? Or play some shelf tetris and keep it all?
